oh i have a desire to select objects by pressing DOWN only on my mouse button.. so

i have

unselected Sphere > scroll over > press down (only) on left mouse > move mouse to the right > moves object to the right > let go of left mouse > eather release selection or not eather way im halfway there and happy! it would be great to relese selection

how would one suggest seting up a mel that does this or writeing one themselves

im not the best scripter i can mostly just copy and past from other actions.. i wonder if there are other actions i can take apart to do this action?

would be very great.. could make geomatry that u skuplt to look like rotate controllers into rotate controllers.. and act the same way!.. not selct it THEN change to ROTATE tool THEN rotate along those axies..

turn on Click Drag in the selection section of the preferences..

Here is the mel you'd be looking for:

global proc toggleClickDrag()
{
int $v;
int $state = `selectPref -query -clickDrag`;

if($state==0)
$v = 1;
else
$v = 0;

selectPref -clickDrag $v;
}

To make a shelf button with this:
-Copy/paste code to the script editor
-Select all
-Middle mouse drag to shelf

if I apply this would be a problem to comeback default?

Not at all, the code is designed to toggle the setting. So if click drag is on it turns it off and if it's off it turns it on.

You just need to click the shelf button again to turn it off/on or execute:

toggleClickDrag;
