View Full Version : problem: meshsmooth (model gets distorted)
tigrine_smiltpe 10-26-2002, 05:59 AM i have problem with meshsmoothing (look at the picture). i tried to play with settings, but that didn't helped much. any ideas how to do proper meshsmooth?

That's because if you look at your model from the side it's probably one long polygon. Divide it into quads the way the front of your model is.

the solution was to make sode edges visible from side. does meshsmooth works only on visible edges???

On polys - yes. Don't know about editable mesh.

Yeap. Visible lines in a mesh as well.
However, you can tell MeshSmooth to work on triangles. When you tell it to, I believe it works on all edges - visible or invisible. I'm pretty sure.
edit: I just checked real quick and operating on triangles is not dependent on visible lines.
