I have been trying out the Modo Demo.-
One thing that bugs me is the way the Rotation around te viewport works. I use c4d, and in c4d te point of rotation is normally the selected objects' axis, or the center of the selection ( points poly edges..)
In modo I am baffled.... I just seems to roatate around an arbitrary point.. Can anyone help, s there a way to define the center or rotation?
thanks,
jp

Turn off 'trackball rotation' from the viewport's viewing options

The center of rotation can be define by either a selection on the mesh, the whole mesh|layer and/or with the G key, point the cursor somewhere, hit G and you'll be rotating around that area now.

Click the viewport shading label(where reads shaded,wireframe,texture...)it's in there.

BTW:I just found another way and it's in a function people don't usually like hehe.

When Zooming in a viewport, the cursor area define where it should zoom in or out, like in XSI's old default.

Notice that the camera also makes this area you have hovered on your new center of rotation?

Nice.
