requiem2d 07-14-2005, 07:59 PM Hi all,
I've started textures on this model and just wanted to get a general impression of some of you who may have more experience. Many thanks in advance.
Naturally I'll post any updates I'll have, cheers. req

Looks good so far. Good attention to detail. Maybe add mud splatters and dirt in crevices. May find more good ref. pictures on tanks.
Crank out some more!

I like it. But I'm a total sucker for AIFV's, Pandur's, ...
The texture seems a bit light? And perhaps it could use some dirt here and there but it's far better than anything I could ever do.

I think it looks pretty good.
One minor suggestion: this vehicles been out in the hot Iraqi sun for a few months. Maybe was out some of the color, especially the red, and add a layer of grime and dust?

Thanks, the red part is still part of the UV, just haven't got to it yet. Dust definitely needs to be added, thanks :)

Good work so far although I don't think the dirt looks very realistic. If the vehicle is covered in a mud spray like that then I would think the wheels would be almost completely brown aswell. I don't understand the clean circle in the middle of them, what is that? Don't be afraid to make the mud thicker and darker :) Another thing, don't ever make the headlights white like that. It always looks bad. Find yourself a good photoref and tweak it up in photoshop.
You have done a good job so far but there is still room for improvement :)

Polycount is around 4500, Map is a 2048x2048 atm.
Thanks for the comments guys, I've actually decided to reduce dirt as this is a desert model and it pretty much doesn't receive any (check recent Ref.'s from Iraq). Armored/Tracked vehicles pick up dust/dirt etc. different then a soft skin (i.e. Humvee).
very well done, im impressed.
One thing i could like to see though is more scratches around the lower body front back and sides and maybe some brownish stains around rivot areas
Good job
