Hi all,
I'm a beginner in Maya, with the personnal learning Edition.
Here's my CPU config :
2.4 GHZ Pentium
512 RAM
ASUS P4P800SE MBoard
Radeon 9200 128 Mo
HD of 120 Go

And i just want for the moment to do still images for advertisings, which i will work on in photoshop. It's for 300 Dpi images at the end, for printing. It will only be objects, no very complex scenes with 300 objets with blur, particles and all, quite simple things. NO ANIMATIONS !

What should i upgrade, knowing that i only have like 100-150 $ to invest ? Sorry to be so poor, but i still wanna learn. Maya is running quite well for the moment, but sometimes my CPU had crashed.

I think theres already a thread on this, but i would suggest a nvidia 6600gt. Or wait for a 7600gt if they actually come out.

for that money FX5900@SoftQUADRO FX 3000
is best choice NO DOUBT!!!
even you can get some old Ti4200@SoftQUADRO 750XGL
and push poligons very well
in OpenGL CPU is a half of viewport speed!!

Thanks for the answers guys, i just really need to be sure that this card is gonna be "Maya compatible", will check their site.
