I think this has been posted before, just type item.create into the command box.

hmmm...Render :)
I wonder what polyRender is though...maybe a render selected only?
Looks good. So will this forthcoming renderer be integrated into the same interface as Modo or will it be a completely seperate app you have to launch like Lightwave?
I hope they have it integrated this time. I mean other apps like Maya and XSI have no problem using the same interface.
Cheers,

Luxology are just genius man. They are doing things in a way that's seems so obvious NOW that they've gone ahead and done it.
My only true dream-come-true is if they could mimic some of the (zphere) bone structures that ZBrush has into Modo.
That way you could still develop your models on seperate layers in Modo, but have them linked in a underlying bone structure that ties the model together, and its automatically ready for animation/posing.

We already know that Luxology plans a C4D-style set of modules.
This is the best of both worlds. Lightwave 3D users like the separate interfaces for modeling and rendering. However, that causes difficulties, as the there are two separate applications which don't interact (forget about the terrible "Hub" app).
From what we've heard, Lux's modules will be integrated and work as one app, yet Lux has the option to build separate interfaces for them and sell them separately. You can have your cake and eat it.
JS... I'm surprised you haven't made the jump to modo. The more you get to know the advantages of modeling in modo, the slower and more cumbersome Lightwave's Modeler appears. You start to wonder how anyone, in this modern day and age, can model without edges.

Hi Beam,
I've been busy doing other things lately but I've downloaded the demo and am really liking it so far. I'm on the verge of becoming a full fledged Luxologist. :) I have till the 31st so I don't need to rush. I loaded a few of my rather complex models from Lightwave into Modo and they loaded fine except for procedural textures. I wonder if the forthcoming renderer will interpret those correctly.
Also the more I use Modo the more I realize how much was taken directly from Lightwave and how they were able to do that without getting into trouble? I guess that was part of the parting of the ways agreement that none of us, except the parties involved, will ever know or needs to know.
I am looking forward to the renderer and hope we don't have to wait a year or two for the animation module. Because if I have a new modeler and renderer I'm going to want to animate in the same environment and not have to take everything to Lightwave to animate and bring it back to render. That would be cumbersome and counter productive.
Cheers,
JS
