As with LightWave (and perhaps others), motion blur works in conjunction with the anti-alias setting. Turn on AA, maybe to 2, with Motion Blur also at 2 just to try it.

Hey there, Alex, everyone! I'm sorry I didn't jump in right away, but I was caught up. Anyway, motionblur works for a long time now, but in the upcoming version it's again optimized and we're considering to put in a bias as well. That will help to finetune it to live action footage, while this sort of thing actually just makes visual time offsets. However, we're already done with the new adjusted motionblur and already have started to contemplate something probably mildy revolutionary in terms of motionblur. It's almost funny how coincidently this topic popped up now.
I'm working on a project currently that involves live action footage and really brought a few more great inspirations.

However, although rendered motionblur is most certainly the most accurate way of doing it, 2d motionblurs add another great level of "camera-realism" to it and a softness that would be very expensive to render. I've been using reel-smart's motionblur a lot, but it can only deal with what it can see. I sometimes mix the two by rendering a low level motionblur out of messiah and adding 2dmotionblur on top. We're about to have a great answer to all of this, but this will come after the next version, I believe. :lightbulb

Again, sorry for the delayed response! :banghead: :wip:

Jeez, I'm sorry, I have posted quite a bit on ZbrushCentral and only very little here on CGtalk. I will prepare a few new posts, we've got some good new things to show! I'm getting totally psyched again, due to some current developments! A few things have changed dramatically recently that are showing already and will make for a truely exciting new wave! :bounce:

I'm still a bit wrapped up in some projects that are strongly contributing to messiah's production power, but besides sharing the features that come with it we will most likely be able to even share the entertaining "behind the scene" demos! It'll be loads of fun! :D

Again, sorry about the silence and no worries, we'll make lot's of noise again!

it will be a way to put blur to only one object?
so the camera only compute the object,

example 2 ninjas fighting, and only one of them has blur, (and you dont need to compose in a video program) plus you can control the animation blur like in lw
