hi all,

how to render a seperate reflection-pass in maya !?

i already searched this forum on that issue, but wasn't able to get the info i want !

to be more concrete:

i'd like to render the corner of a room, the walls of which reflect each other to create the illusion of a larger scaled room.

the problem is, that the scene isn't well lit, but when adding lights, those are to be seen in the reflections either.

the only light-type, which served my needs so far, is 'ambient-light', but this doesn't seem to support raytraycing, so i get no reflections at all.

:hmm:

so how to achieve this ?!

i overexposed the screenshot i attached to reveal the problem !

look in the attibute spread shit on the render tab you can put want you dont want to render at okkk like specular receive shadow and keep reflection now you can render only a reflection pass like that.............

finally i got it ... :bounce:

i simply switched off all the available passes except specular inside the render globals ... this didn't work on maya 4.01 linux for i tried exactly that method before posting ...

anyway, thanks a lot !
