Hello,

I found an interesting technique where you first pencil shade or paint in grayscale, and then using an "overlay" layer you can add color. Now I tried this using Painter IX, but I'm not getting great results. Is this technique more Photoshop specific?

This link shows you the technique I'm reffering about...

Do you have tutorials that teach this "higher grayscale" technique?

Will these tutorials be based only on Photoshop or will Painter users be able to follow along?

Thanks!

Try using the Hard Light blend mode. In my experience, that often works better in colorizing grayscale pictures.
