Hi I want to show You all my struggle with painting 3,5 triangles character. Originally he was designed for CGCHAT comp 26 but I couldn't finish him on time :) I'm painting it doublesized, but finally it'll have one 256x256 (maybe 128x128 coz the head has mirored UV's) texture on face and two 512x512 on the rest of the body.
I haven't painted hard shadows yet, but I'll do this at the end when all textures will be on one layer

I need some critiques about color composition, need some advice for any tweeks. THNX In advance for all C&C

Looks good to me so far...I'm no expert in "space marine" character designs but this looks pretty good...definitely like the texturing, especially since it's dirty, scratched, dented etc....so that's cool, but it looks a little flat, are you going to be adding any other materials to make it pop?...also I just noticed the his right hand is a little stumpy, it could do with scaling so it's longer and I dig the asymmetry...:)

Hi dude. I like it, but colors need more life, maybe contrast abit, but definately it will looks better with specular and bump (probably You won't make any normal map). Some light, with various colors with shadol will give also more attractiveness.

johnwoo thnx for good words, I know that model is to flat for nowdays characters but with my comp I just cant do any hi poly staf for normal maps anything (i can paint bump map but will it count as a game art? I dont know if any engine read such bumps (not normalmaps) )

ill do a specular and maybe glosines map and see how will it look like, and maybe someday (when ill earn something for new computer :) )

about hand Ill think about it but must say that I've made some tests and that hand looks wird when it is bigger, I'll try to make other hand bit shorter

Poraszek :) thnx mate, dont know if colors will be much more saturated due that I'm aiming to make him in postaapocaliptic colors that arn't bright much for me :) but gona see :)

Umm, to be honest with you, it looks cool. But i'm not too sure what kind of space marine your talking about....here's what i was thinking i'd see before i went to this thread.

heh I know I know :) the original name of this project was "Futuristic Knight" but I am a great fan of Fallout series so i wanted to make him in this setting, then i thought that his armor is a bit warhammerish 40k style so i name this thread Space Marine :) now I reconsederate it ind it should be named Postapocaliptic knight/thug (in a power armor) :)
