I might be wrong, but if those squarish things under the joysticks are foot pedals this contraption looks mightily uncomfortable to site in.

For the rest it looks like a pretty nice cockpit, but I think the actual Mecha is more important. For me the cockpit would be something I'd make big enough and detail only once the outside were done? Have you made some sketches on the whole machine for yourself?

Thanx for the comment Blikkie :) .
Those squarish things r foot pedals but they're basically just placeholders for now and i do have sketches for the whole mech.

Ok for this update i have modeled the rest of the mech except for the rest of the arms and for the brushed steel shader that's temporary for now.soon i will post an update of the rest of the arms with more detail to the whole mech as well.

I like the military ugliness of the mecha. It has a tanklike, solid, coarse-looking construcion. Since it is so tank-like I would gie it smaller windows I think, it's a bit open for a tank now.

yeah im thinking of remodelling the cockpit and deffinitely giving it smaller windows and im gonna remodel the legs and the feet but i think i might start with my pilot first as i have to wait a couple of days before i can go back to my dads to be able to hire out mechassault 2 so i can get some ideas from that.

ok i've remodelled the whole mech and now it is going to have smaller windows or window and a less square-ish shape :p i have the design drawn out just not the the side arms et but i will draw it up tomorrow at the moment i have one pic of it soo far and i've finally found out how to use radiosity alot better now :D .

ok here is an update.

i've put on some legs,a fan at the front of the cockpit and more plating and a gauss cannon on it's chest area i think i may have to increase the size of the parts on teh side of the sphere-body and i will do the feet tomorrow.First pic is a whole body shot and second is a close-up of the cockpit to show that it has 3 small windows and not 3 big windows like the other mech :D and there is a hatch on top.

I have a simple question. How did you get the ammunition chute to follow that path so perfectly on the first one?
Modelling a mech of my own and I sure have some problems :/.

And to comment your design a little bit, I like the sloped missile pack, and how I think it's supposed to be able to move up and down a bit.

edit: I would make that gun beneath the cockpit into a minigun type of thing though. But that's just me, cause I love miniguns/vulcans and would put one where ever I could hehe.

Apart from the lack of feet I like this model very much. It really looks like something unhuman and alien now.

@Flakk - well that ammo chain i did by making one of the little links and just duplicating and moving them and rotating them but i've just found out that i could've just used 'Duplicate Along Spline' :banghead: :p . And thanx for the comment :) .

@Blikkie - hehe thanx i got the idea of the ball shape from a mech in mechassault 2 though i can't remember what it was :p .

Well i think i should be able to get some work on it today and do the feet :D .

Pretty awesome. But I don't like the base very much. It looks very blocky, squarish. Especially in contrast to the roundness of the rest of it.

my opinion exactly the base is really square in comparison with the rest...before starting the model for the pilot u could add some more details ....
