We represent a high profile games company in California that is looking for an experienced Lead Designer.
Position Summary:
Proactive visionary with strong management skills and a drive to creatively push the envelope and to take ownership of the creative vision of a product from conception to completion.
Responsibilities:
Leadership skills, creative vision, and passion for games.
Experience providing and maintaining the "creative vision" of a product.
Ability to produce articulate design documentation detailing innovative gameplay mechanics, mission walkthroughs, story lines, character biographies, interface design, control systems, and asset inventories.
Delegate and coordinate the Design teams work to meet development needs at all stages of a project.
Foster and mentor other members of Design staff.
Act as liaison between multiple disciplines amongst the production staff.
Rquirements:
Over 4 years of game design experience in a senior or lead position.
Intimate knowledge of the development process from concept to final product release.
Experience using 3D world-building tools to and/or 3DStudioMax or Maya to implement gameplay.
Have shipped a title with Lead Designer as primary responsibility.
Skills:
Ability to accept and provide direction, work well under pressure, and handle multiple tasks.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Excellent documentation skills. Ability to convey often abstract concepts through written communication.
Pluses:
Scripting experience
Art skills
Programming experience
Fiction writing
