View Full Version : Compositing in After Effects
Alleycat 07-12-2005, 01:31 AM Hello, I have a robot modelled in Maya and I wish to composite my robot in AE.
Lets say this robot is walking on a liveshot of a city. And some portions of its legs are covered by the liveshot buildings. May I know how do you achieve this feat to enable its leg to be 'covered' by the building ? I am a newbie when it comes to compositing. Thanks

2 ways :
1. Roto Bezier Mask the robot
2. Roto Bezier Mask the elements that cover the leg. Copy the layer and put on top.
Simple as that

He doesn't need to roto the robot, since it's out of Maya it comes with an alpha channel. But definitely the buildings need to be roto'd, or if it's a still image you can use a PSD file.

What i mean by roto the robot is when the leg cross over the building, roof or whatsoever so that it's not overlapping or cross each other.
