Another click, click, purchased! Excellent work Renato!

Question: Renato is there anyway in the future the deformer and object can become permanent polygon object?

*Help to send Maxon.net a request to recommend small developer support on Maxon.net plugins page for this developer!

you can make it with a Current State of object i think.
Did you mean about a button that insert on the document a new object?

Feedback are really welcome from all meshdeformer users.

thanks all :)

Could use another object besides a cube as the object to deform. For example use the head of a figure and deform it .

Renato,
I dont know how much you know about webdesign, but it is allowed to use TEXT.

On your page I see all text in form of HUGE images which take a long time to download and other images dont work. Your website is simply too slow do do EVERTHING through JPGs, even text.
Very inefficient :(

Yes, it would be very very cool if renato would use TEXT on the web page instead of images. For gods sake, if you can create plugins like this you would create a simple CSS based web page in a second.

Pixelkarma,
I have DSL and wanted to look at various of Renatos plugins.
I dont know why it was so slow,
I mean the page looks quite complicated with a huge style definition, and all pirures cut up and so.
That would probably cost more work than putting in the text version of the page, besides the text version would load much faster.

We should always remember, there are still people having a 33.6k modem.

Renato's plugin page is 239 kB. This is not exagerrated. The slices (ImageReady) vary from some 5kB to some exceptional 89kB. This is no problem as everyone will as good as immediately see something. And the overall design is far from bad, very well readable and clean.

What can play a role is the traffic on the server. A new plugin (and that's what this thread is all about, isn't it?) is always a cause for a kind of rush hour at the site.
Many of us have been waiting eagerly for this release.

Besides: Renato gives away lite versions for thtose with a tighter budget.

Your critique is outbalanced by all that's positive and well-done.

Renato: I noticed that now even when you have no paypal you still can order. Which I did.

Hi All,

i'm sorry but i was away from pc today.
Today, meshdeformer will use only editable geometry like a mesh. If will be possible i'll do it.
Another cool things will be the Catmull-Clark subdivision algoritm to allow smooth deformation s with low poly count.

I'm sorry about the site, i'll fix this.
for who need Share-It instead paypal, please write to me.

Today i'm fixing a bug on a Osx Release. I'm sorry and i'm working on it.

Hopefully the music plugins you have mentioned previously are next on your list

Another fine plug-in! You've got my order.

As for the webpage, you might want to change the text on the bottom of the Mesh Deformer page that still references NOTA. But otherwise, don't worry about your pages. The same person complains about pretty much everything.

Hello Renato,

The only request for expanded feature that I can see at the moment is some kind of tolerance control for how "loose" or "tight" the deformed object can be in relation to the deformer object. So if I use your torus example as the deformer and a plane object as the deformed object, I can very easily wrap this plane (belt) onto the torus and slide it around any way I like. What I would like now is a way to control how much of the plane object wraps around the torus while some other percentage of the object remains in a non-deformed state.

Maybe this can already be done, I am just not yet aware of how to control it in this manner.

Thanks for wonderful work!

I have a question. I have not had the time to really play with this plugin yet but can you make something wrap around the whole object? Like say you want to wrap a label around a can and you want it to wrap all the way around and meet at the back can that be done?

Continuumx
07-15-2005, 06:34 PM
I have been able to do this as you can adjust the scale of the deformed object via the plugin.

Hi, I have the same question, which are the limits for the wraping? With UV-Deformer it seems you can't get too close to the UV coordinates limits. For example, is it possible to wrap an unwraped version of the mesh in the original mesh itself?

What I would like now is a way to control how much of the plane object wraps around the torus while some other percentage of the object remains in a non-deformed state.

you can also move and rotate the MeshDeformer object. Like pathdeformer, the axis of the deformer is the reference for deformation. The loop is already set.

I have a question. I have not had the time to really play with this plugin yet but can you make something wrap around the whole object? Like say you want to wrap a label around a can and you want it to wrap all the way around and meet at the back can that be done?

Dfaris, it's too hard to compute lenght of meshobject. I spent some time to make it but the mesh can be built with triangle/quadrangle subdivided.
Maybe useful with a quadrangle mesh generated by extrusion and others Nurbs tool and i need to implement a Quadrangle Switch.

I'll like to make simply plugin to prevent problems in production.

Hi, I have the same question, which are the limits for the wraping? With UV-Deformer it seems you can't get too close to the UV coordinates limits. For example, is it possible to wrap an unwraped version of the mesh in the original mesh itself?

This is not a Unwrap tool but you can deform any geometry on a mesh with UVW Tag.

Did that OS X fix work for anyone? Still crashing on me...

I'm sorry, the plugin is wrote with 100% standard call but on OSX crash on certain configuration.. this is a bit problematic to me... but i'm working on it.

-------------------------
The probs is that i'm moving in these day, so i'm organizing me to work without problems.

THANKS ALL :)

Does mesh deformer need to have a solid object to be used as the deformer? I have half a ship hull that I want to rework and I don't want to rework all the angles so I thought I would use mesh deformer but when I apply it nothing happens the mesh does not deform to the ship hull.

Here is a zip file.

One more thing. It seems that there may be an issue if the mesh has holes in it. Like if you have a head and want to use mesh deform to put a mask on the face the eye holes give mesh deform a problem and points start to fly all around. Would it be possible to interpolate around holes in the mesh you are using as the deformer?
