I am a bit new here so bear with me please. :)

It is meant to show off a new physics chip by Ageia. Anyway, I would like to do something comparable in 3D Studio Max. I am currently using version 6 but will most likely be upgrading to version 7 soon.
I have used the havok plugin in 3DSmax before and did some basic animations with that, but never anything of the complexity of that video.
Are there any plugins or tutorials on how to do something like that in 3Dsmax or would something like this have to be meticoulsly modeled and animated?
