This is my first project in architecture with maya and mental ray. I specially focused on the lighting with GI and final gather, but please comment every aspect of the picture. Thanx!

good work in general but the lighting should be different in order to make it beautiful
and the fire needs more work :sad:
any way some changes then it will look nece :thumbsup:

I think you should put some bump on the wood texture is just to flat which makes the reflection flat. Also change the color of the living room furniture is a bit flat too; overall it has great potential and keep it up

Really nice lighting! I think the main improvement would be to brighten the texture on the chairs; right now it is too black and eats up all the light creating holes in the image. In nature nothing is pure white or black so lightening it, some blurry reflections and maybe a slight bumpmap will bring it to life.

There are some things, that really disturb me:


the absolutely black furniture
the 2 shiny balls
and the overbright light in the background
