Not too long ago, I remember finding an interesting Maya tutorial on sticking a polygon on a surface. I believe the tutorial was speaking about placing a button on a piece of clothing.

Now I've run into the same problem. My characters face moves soo much that I need his eyes to ride along the stretching of his face.

Anyone have a solution for this? I thought it might work to create a cluster (of one vertex), and then parent the polygon (an eye) to that cluster...but it appears clusters do not move along with their vertexes.

Guess I'll look into using dynamics some how, but I'm hoping for a much easier solution.

I would give the rivet.mel a try over at Highend3d. Ive used it a lot for buttons and stuff that I want to follow the surface without deforming. Works quite nicely. It attaches a locator at/between edges/cv's and then you can parent whatever you like to it.
