View Full Version : Problems with copying motion between characters

I have a mesh and skeleton, rigged and skinned in Maya.
I have an .fbx run cycle downloaded from turbosquid.

How do I combine the two?

Problems I've had:
I open the mesh file first in MB, then merge the run cycle file, set my character's input source to character, point it at the humanoid from the second file. The motion comes across, but legs and arms are flying everywhere.

I characterize the humanoid and plot it to a control rig, set my first character's input to the newly created character, and get a memory exception which shuts down MB.

I give up and import the run cycle into Maya, hoping to just skin a mesh to its skeleton, but the proportions are too different.

Help?

Version 6 pro.

I ended up just importing the .fbx into maya, IKing my original skeleton, constraining the IK to the imported skele, then baking the constraints and hand tweaking.

If there's a way I don't have to do that again I'll be happy.

Daniel.
