hi cgtalkers, i am a new in shake
this is my first lightning comp, and i can not make sure how i can do the lightning effects in an efficiency way,and is my method correct.

i just use contrastLum and brightness to isolate the piece of cloud i need, then roto(or DOD) it ,give it a little blur, and in an other branch brightness and blur it much stronger(the same piece of cloud), use it as the glow, and screen them(with the first branch),and take the (random) fade node,at last give the genarts zapin(lightning). i dont know, is this method correct, any comment and help will be appreciated.

thnx.

there are my shake tree and comp reel.

i really need help, thnx a lot.

and forgive my bad english.
