your modeling seems to be pretty solid for 1 month's experience.
Just use more reference images. Even the most mundane piece of furniture or item should have some sort of reference behind it. wheter it's a few sketches, or highly detailed product photos and drawings..I say this because things like your entertainment center appear to be very generalized.
the sudden and very heavy depth-of-field blur on the back wall is rather distracting. I'd refrain from using DOF blur unless the composition absolutely calls for it-as in rendering a close-up of a small object.
with everything I've already said, the lighting is what I think needs to be adjusted to get the most out of this room. At the moment it feels over-lit with bright white light illuminating everything. just dimming the lights isn't really enough. try using your floor lamps to light the room, or maybe adding some sconces (wall hanging light fixtures) to bring in some mood lighting..mess around with your light color a bit as well. Flourescent lights have a touch of blue, not much maybe 2%, but the incadesant lights are warm yellow in color, of course fixtures can alter the color even more.
Have fun with it! you're off to a great start! Keep up the good work!
Cheers!

The floor is a bit to shiny, the rest looks cool!

I agree with WinterMute... I find the rear wall distracting.
