I'm doing the facial set up for a character animation in XSI. I'm using a bone in each eye with the end effector positioned constrained to a target point. This target point is where the eyes look, but I want to have the eyelids linked to this set up some how. When he looks up I want the top eyelid to recede and the bottom comes up slightly and vice versa for looking down. Does anybody know of a way of doing this or can point me to a tut?

Cheers!

In maya I've previously just used 3 joints like so:

mainEyeJ
- upperLidJ
- lowerLidJ

then I just weighted the lids to the respective joints. Then it's just a small matter of limiting the effect so if you look to the right your eyelids aren't effected. For this I just set limits on the LidJ's rotation.

This is assuming you have spherical eyes - it can be a bit more envolving otherwise.
