Edit UV Weld Selected tool not working

Do a quick check that the UVs you are trying to weld are in range in the W axis (you can check the W coords in the little windows in the bottom left of the panel)

I used to get caught by this all the time til i realised what was up! they look like they're on top of each other in the window, but the W distance between them can be large, meaning the weld won't weld! :)

i cannot imagine why it won't work, except of this: make sure your geometry vertexes are also weld. the unwrapped geometry should highlight with blue lines in the uvw-unwrap-editor when selected at places where it is originally weld. btw: do i say "weld" or "welded" geometry in english...?
