Vel_crow 07-08-2005, 11:01 PM ok so a new creature to create......im going to spend a lot more time moddeling this than i do with my other work, though its going to be slow progress because unfortunatly.....real life intervenes
so heres a quick concept drawing of my creature :-

what i want to ask is how to make good eyes.....
everytime i try they always looks messed up, does anyone have any techniques or links to tuts that show how to make good ones..

To make eyes, I usually just extrude the eye sockets inwards after making them 1 poly on each side. Then make 2 spheres and place them into the Eye Sockets.

A quick tip with the image plane is to extrude it back a bit then make all of the edges hard. That way when you go into smooth proxy mode, it retains its shape:thumbsup:

so here are my eyes.....
do they look ok to you...i mean with the eye lids, i want to try and get really defined eyelids

well, a little hard to tell, but they look ok, I mean ya sure have a lot of loops in that area, whether or not they are all required I suppose depends on the amount of detail you are putting into the topology... maybe a close up of that area would be cool to view and better to discuss this with... members can then draw on this to illustrate if and where changes could be...
keep up the good work, looking forward to viewing your updates on this :)
