View Full Version : Modo's new layouts
jamesvalue 07-08-2005, 06:12 PM Maybe this question has been posted "tons of times" already , but unfortunately using the search old thread option , I can't find anything .
So guys these is my question.
Is there a folder inside the Luxology\Modo , where new layouts.cfg are stored?
Inside the "Luxology\Modo\rescr" folder I can easly find the "ModoDefaultLayout.cfg" , but my newly created layout is not there? So where it could be? (I already performed a quick O.S. search....., but no-way Jose!)
So thanks in advance
Bye Luka

If you haven't exported your layouts, then they will be in your main config file. Export a config fragment of "layouts" to get them as a seperate file.

I saved my layout and named it "nissanZ.cfg" (by Allan Jay Soriano , a LW car Tutorial) , now my nissanZ.cfg file is stored whithin the main Modo directory.
Do I have to move it into a different location or not ?
Thanks , ..........Cheers!

you don't have to, but if you delete your config, modo will not know that it's there... If you drop it into your RESRC directory it will load it every time that you load modo.

You're right thanks!
I use system restore so frequently , and everytime I restore an old point , my Modo's newly created layouts are blanked out from Modo's memory.(since the original Modo main cfg file is restored too , by the System restore itself )
But not this time! , Since I saved Layouts to a .cng file , and I copied them to my resrc directory.
Thanks again Luka

for backing up specific folders, also consider using a dedicated backup program like SyncBackSE. They have a free version that works very well.
