Senior Character Modeler

EA Montreal is currently looking for a highly skilled Senior Character Modeler. EA creates a challenging and rewarding environment for artists to collaborate in while shaping the creation of the 3D counterparts of the worlds most sophisticated characters. *This is an ideal environment for both junior and senior artists alike blending new ideas, evolutions, and innovations with tried and true methods, experience and wisdom from both the videogame and film industry.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strong modeling skills
Strong drawing skills (light, form, shadow, color)
Ability to rig characters (preferably human and realistic-based)
Strong texturing skills - photographic manipulation, texturing & colour correction
Knowledge of the human anatomy and form
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Ability to meet deadlines
Work well within a team
Excellent organizational skills (goal setting, working towards milestones)
Committed and willing to work hard

REQUIREMENTS:
3 to 5 years experience in Character Modeling (preferably for real-time)
Excellent 3D modeling and texturing skills
Illustrator experience is an asset
Strong PhotoShop abilities
Attention to detail and ability to accurately follow instructions
Understanding of efficient models and texture layouts
Exceptional communication skills are a must
Strong time management skills and able to meet deadlines
Team player with a good grasp of customer service and diplomacy. Positive attitude, pro-active personality.
Must be legally eligible to work in Canada

DEMO REEL REQUIREMENTS:

The ideal demo reel would showcase an artist’s ability to create realistic human form and likeness while also demonstrating a flair for creativity. It will include highly detailed and clean texture work!

High quality, character models in low, medium and high polygon counts
Ability to create realistic human form and likeness
Clean texturing skills and an eye for colour
Good use of light and shadow
Excellent sense of scale and form
Excellent level of finish Drawing skills

PORTFOLIO SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:

Demo reels should only be submitted as DVD, or personal website. Please include a detailed summary of what your particular contributions were and which software you used. Please only send copies of your art as submissions will not be returned.
Please address your demo to Martine Poisson and include a current resume, detailed shot list (do not forget your shot list) and cover letter with your portfolio/demo reel. *Online demos and DVD's are preferred. For Online demos, please display a single web link at the top of your resume in bold. *
