I need some help with this poster I'm making.

At this point it's still far from done, and before I continue, I want to know which version of the poster you think looks best.

version 1

version 2
http://monkey.trouble-free.net/~thany/temp/dc2.jpg

version 3

Any critiques or comments are welcomed. Thanks!

The biggest problem has to do with the typography. The headline of the poster is far smaller than the answer line. Also the Headline is too long. It could be something around this…

Headline: "POWER WITH"

Tag line: "Deceit and Conquest" Or better yet take deceit off and leave "conquest".

Not to get on you but Deceit is not positive.

Deceit equals dishonesty, trickery, treachery, and many more.

Does a nation really want to send a message that people are going to conquer with deceit? Shorter lines usually have more impact in a poster. You have to think that the poster will be seen from far away and by an audience that would like to see a positive view.

My take on it. :)

Thanks for the reply. I guess I should have mentioned that this is based on a book titled, "Deceit and Conquest" ,Volume 1 "Seor"

It's not a propaganda poster or anything like that. It's more like an advertisment poster to promote a movie or in this case a book. As for the title, "Deceit and Conquest", it fits in with the story so it wouldn't make sense to change that.

You can find a link to the book cover art here (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/1411625102/qid=1120809017/sr=8-1/ref=pd_bbs_ur_1/102-0560087-3099306?v=glance&s=books&n=507846)

Sorry for any confusion I may have caused.

Anyway, I'm thinking about using version three

Oww! I hope i can help a bit, why dont you change the 2 picture. I mean, the portraits could be down and the landscape up. I think the poster now is a bit imbalanced...

If you have time try it..

Personally I like the third version the most. The first one could work too, especially if the horseman has any significance in the story, but still my vote goes for the version three.

I have no experience in designing headlines and stuff, but to me it looks ok and sounds pretty catchy too.

Nice work so far. Can't wait to see what it'll look like when it's finished.

Yeah...
There is too much (almost empty) space in the bottom part
of the poster...
My advice is to lower the girls' head more than the male
heads (like in #1 but without a horseman).
It should give more dramatic and dynamic feeling...

BTW.
Nice color scheme...

Thanks everyone. Most people said they like the third one best, so I'm going with that.

I did lower the title a bit so there isn't as much empty space below. The two background faces are also up higher compared to where the girl's face is now.

I'm going to continue painting the faces, so any crits or comments would be helpful. Thanks!
