Hi all...

I'm a bit of a max newbie, so sorry if this is a inane question...

I'm creating an assault rifle for a videogames project. I have made 4 primitive meshes- the reciever, the charging handle, the retractable stock, and the magazine- and am fine tuning the meshes- smoothing and details. I want to create a series of cuts to chamfer an edge:

But everytime I select the object (pink mesh) it turns white and all the edges ( which are what I want to edit) dissapear:

Do you have any suggestions as to what may be causing this or any possible resolutions?

Thanks for your help,

Is it maybe because you are too close to your object and your field of view settings need to be changed? If so go to the Viewport Configuration (Customize, Viewport Configuration)
If this is not the issue I am not too sure

Don't know if this is too obvious to be the answer, but could it be down to having backface cull selected in the object's properties?

You can try opening the object's properties and turning off the option "edges only" that may help you see all the edges (including the invisible ones), but if you want to chamfer the edges (at least edges representing the corners of the object) you don't need to make cuts, you can simply select the edges and use the chamfer slider. But maybe I'm misunderstanding which edges you want to chamfer.

the polys faces and normals may be flipped depending on how you built it.

make sure all your verts are welded and you can flip the polys or try the unify option, but thats only for editable meshes for some reason.
