Who are we:

We are a group of Indie Game Developers and Mod Makers who have gathered together to develop a game and mods on topics that interest us. Our first project is a WW2 Game.

We are currently using the Reality Engine, which has recently been purchased by Epic, but fortunately for us we managed to secure our contracts prior to Epic purchasing the engine. This means we are entitled to make our games using this extremely high end next gen engine.

We are also developing mods to ensure that our AI system that drives the game is actually portable and can be easily integrated into other mainstream engines (Source, Doom3, Unreal, BF2 etc.)

We are currently focusing on the Source engine, and expect to have a full alpha released to the community within the next month. Once this is complete and we are happy with our developments, we will make the code open to all other mod makers who request it, and move onto another engine (this does not include the AI, but we will do some bots for people if they are required).

-------------------------
About the Project
-------------------------

We are developing a WW2 simulation. The core focus will be on Normandy and simulating the events that take place. Our aim is to simulate the movements of all the units and the actions they take. Most games and mods focus on 1 battle or 1 unit, or even one squad, we have opted to focus on the entire operation.

(This describes the full game, the mods will be smaller more focused versions of this, restricted by the limitations of each engine)

The AI will adapt its tactics and take different actions depending on how battles are going. The player can then select any AI unit and take control of that unit, directly effecting the course of battles. The gameplay will be as realistic as possible, with the AI following an exact set of procedures and rules which we have researched from documents and tactics relating back to the war. The player will have the option of 1st person view or a very close 3rd person view. They can play as any unit on the battle field, provided they have already completed basic training in that area. The game will simulate 24 hours.

I started this AI simulation as part of my thesis in college, and manage to get a good portion of the AI simulation done, So now out in the real world with a real job (Full time Network Programmer). I have decided to continue on this project. I have managed to attract some attention from friends and peers who have joined my effort.

So why would anyone want to create this project. Personally I see it as a challenge to get such a large scale AI system working within a game. Others join because they love the era, and others join because they love the realism factor. We have secured our a full commercial engine to work on, we have a strong and dedicated team, that consists of 6 programmers, 14 artists, 4 audio staff, and countless people assisting development during the project.

-------------------------
Time Frame
-------------------------
The game should take anywhere between 6 months - 18 months. Depending on how much time each member contributes. Currently we devote about 4 hours a week minimum to the project, while I would be contributing about 10 - 20 hours per week.

Mods will take about 1 - 2 months to programme, with content taking as long as is needed.

NDA's and Contracts are signed prior to to starting so as to ensure that each member knows exactly what they are getting into. Since its a voluntarty poject we have decided to work on a royalty system and the contract clearly outlines payment schemes.

-------------------------
Who are we looking for
-------------------------

We are primarily looking for programmers,Modellers, Animators, Designers, HL2 mappers, various engine Mappers, Texture Artists, Researchers, PR and Webmasters.

Here is the full commercial engine we are using:

Wow this looks like a great project. Its very well planned out. I would like to join up but, I'm not sure if I could dedicate the time yet. The screens look great. You should have people pouring in for this project.
