View Full Version : Max2cws tracking a point offscreen??

hi there! :)

is it possible to track a point that goes off screen and come back later during the animation?
actually i want to track a point for a lens flare effect but during the animation the lens flare source goes in and off screen (because of the shaking of the camera).
or may be there is a way to export location of a point from max to combustion like the camera info?
any advice would be great.

The best way would be to track the point in Combustion.
Just add your tracker, track the point until it goes off screen, then go forward in time when your point comes back and continue tracking.
Now just create a few handmade keyframes for the part in which your point is off screen otherwise your flare will stop at the edge of the frame and then start moving again.
