I had a little problem where I had a planetary scene and I had object motion blur applied to my earth... which was fine when the camera was moving horizontaly.
But when I trucked forwards or backwards, the entire planet would get darker.
I noticed this more as I had a gradient ramp falloff set to "lighting" which meant that where there was light hitting my model, I was showing a daylight map of the earth, and where there was darkness I was showing a night map (clever... I know).
So for the planet I guess it's about having to switch to image motion blur, if you have a similar setup.
