View Full Version : So many choices! Please Help! :)
rrelitz 07-05-2005, 05:26 AM I have a 30 minute sequence of JPEG images that I need to edit down and throw on a DVD to be replicated. I am looking for the highest quality output as possible. I just bought Final Cut Studio Pro and I am curious what codec/format I should edit in!
THANKS!

IMO, if your drives are fast enough and if you have enough space, Blackmagic 10Bit. Download the codecs from www.blackmagic-design.com. Install and set your sequence in FCP to this. Go here for uncompressed codec comparsions:

Good Luck!

your matherial is 8-bit jpegs so you don't need 10bit codec
you can use standart quicktime uncompresed codec or blackmagic 8bit, you never see the difference, but maybe your sistem not fast for this kind of work
best way
1. make 2 quicktime videofiles from sequnce - one with dv or mjpeg codec, other uncompresed
2. edit dv or mjpeg with fast and confortable editing
3. replace file in your project with uncompresed one
4. make final output
