CGTalk - mental ray install problem?

I have a legal copy of maya 4.5 unlimited
running and when i try to load the mental ray plugin i get the following error..

Error: No valid licenses to load the plugin (Mayatomr)

I've tried reinstalling, but no luck.

any ideas?

what version of mental ray you are using?
maya4.5 suport only MentalRay1.5

MentalRay plugin v1.5 beta.

The problem i'm having is that it doesnt display the render pull down menu anymore :(

maya 4.5 beta 2 suports the mental ray 1.5 public beta ?

i'm experiencing the same problem from time to time - what works for me is to select a renderer first by using the render view panel (render -> render -> render using -> ...)

Are u sure you have legal software? I have legal 4.5 and mental ray 1.5 beta works fine.

@chappo: The problem i'm having is that it doesnt display the render pull down menu anymore.

i have the same problem-> try that;
just go to the renderview and click mentalray in the pulldown. click render and the menu in the mainbar should appear.
dont know why but it works. :eek:
