Here is the final image for my Turtle. Some more slight tweaking on the DOF and shadows for the final. Comments are welcome as always.

Awww...

That's just lovely :D Especially the specualr on the back of his, shell very nice...

Only crit would be the proportions. Size of his little legs in comparison with his body... but then I'm not an expert on box turtles (always wanted one though :D)

Very nice image - the turtle looks real!
The only thing that makes it look cg is the cement - maybe raising the bumpmap a little, or adding some more grime into the cracks would help. Other than those very small crits - awesome  :applause:

Very nice though looking a little too 'clean' to these eyes. I don't mean missing grime so much as something a little like dust to take the edge off the shininess and clarity. Perhaps adding a very slight reflection map might do the trick. :)

i thought it is a real photo.

however, if you want me tobe picky, the turtle..... hum, the shell is perfect. but the other parts, like the head and the legs, it can be more jelly, like a wet surface. I don't know how to make it, but it is just the only thing it doesn't have enough.

nice job, but the texture on the head and legs should match.

Whats fellow maxer!!

Looks great! How you like Brazil? I love it!! The textures look good, but the only crit I have is at the rim of the shell, it looks a bit stretched and the texture blurs out a bit. The top of the shell looks alot crisper than the rim. But it looks great though. GOOD JOB!:buttrock:

i think his back leg looks abit weird and when they walk, it doesn't move back that much. ;)

other than that, SUPER modeling and texturing....

i don't know if anyone said this yet... i noticed that the ground texture is put on a randomised surface grid ... so i see that the tiles are crooked if u see the lines ..... the edges.....

yo if u wanna fix that problem just rotate the shot a bit, so the silloette is defined even if the whole turtle was filled in, just make it so the leg isnt b ehind the head. i noticed what looks like a crash through on the upper neck, i mean it just looks wierd i was drawn to it looking at the image, also the floor, it kinda looks like scummy bathroom tile. anyways over all very nice work and good render :D keep up the good work

I like the texturing job done there especially on the turtle.
The only critique would be for the ground : would it be possible to add some detail in the geometry ? like tiny holes, bumps etc making it more defined.

Hope you'll do good ! It's awesome anyway :)

All great ideas. I'll work on the lighting and clean up some other things and try to get a new render up for you guys.

As far as render time, I rendered it in Brazil on a Dual Althlon 1800+, 1gb DDR Ram. Render time was aprox 15min. I dont remember exact settings or lights right off the top of my head, but I can pull that info up for you after I get home from work if you want.
