I'm going to be getting my portfolio together and sending it out very soon. I'm looking for a video game artist position.

This is a layout and rough character turnaround. I'd like some crits and/or comments about anything that is wrong or should be handled differently. I'd rather have crits before I get too far along. On my last work I went too far before getting crits and my work suffered because of it. Please help if you can! Thank you. Also, if anyone's got a better name for this guy, please feel free to suggest it. I'm thinking of Bog Creep(er), Bog Goblin, and Foxfire.

Hi blacker,

Well, so far you have some good sketches. I would say to really get a proper critique, you'll need to just start an illustration from the ground up. The sketches are fine but what I would suggest is pick a pose for your character (you have plenty to choose from already) and start your illustration from there. Even if its just a character study, try to complete the image from sketch, to line art, to coloring and deatiling. It's easier to get an idea of what your strongest skill sets as an artist are by viewing how you progress through the illustration process than by simply posting just a few sketches.

Personally, I think your character is great but you should really decide on a name for the character on your own. Thats part of the fun in creating fantasy art... be creative with the name and make it your own :)
