View Full Version : How to Blur Line where Water meets Terain ??

How is the best way to blur the distinct line that is formed where water meets Terain, as this always looks very unnatural. Would be nice if there was some sort of object detection in the material edit where you could set a blurry edge. I seem to be having trouble making this look right.

Yeah, I think I know what you mean.
They show some sample images at the web site with rivers and such,
but the edges that meet the shore lines don't have that rough disstorted
or disturbed look that would really accur when water meets the shore line.
Can this be faked some how?
And the river images I've seen, the water doesn't seem to flow
in the direction of the bending river, which it "should" do, right?

They are talking setting up a shoreline and the first link shows one way how to do this, the person also put up a test mat to show how they did it so you can see for yourself.
