Little more than an hour in Photoshop. Checked out some posters for the movie for ref. Really wanted to use the energy rings around the robot thing.

30 minutes in ArtRage. I really like that this program has the option for larger canvases now (although I certainly didn't use that here) and generally find it fun to use. I was rather baffled at my inability to get darker but not the darkest colors out of the pencil tool, though.

I like to think the parallels between this and the dancin' entrancin' scenes in the movie are noticeable, but they probably aren't.

Fun robots, meta_Nerd. Impressive mouse lovin', Vahn.
csgirl, stuff like that makes me want to keep practicing at ArtRage instead of staying in my comfort area. Curse and bless you.

First time sketch ever, just wanted to mess a bit and loved the Metropolis theme.
I'm not even sure that one can understand that the dark thing on the bottom is oily water submerging the old metropolis...
I wanted to try to put boats on it but I'm out of time.

took me 3 hours with sketchbook, photoshop and a wacom.

awesome work everybody on top...
meta_nerd... woah!

Created in about 15 minutes last night in Photoshop. Shouldn't have tried to do a cityscape when I only had 15 minutes, because it shows that it was made in 15 minutes  I just tried to establish a few different shapes and some values. The perspective is really sloppy, I should be ashamed of myself. :D

haven't seen this movie either (surprise surprise:rolleyes:) and my wacom was... not here so I decided to try out some scrapes but that was a total disaster so I drew one of the logos that I saw and used as a ref pic.

the second picture was the final work but I liked the simple yellow and black pic so much that I decided to post both of them

took me about 30min with mouse

Aw, shucks. I'm in the same boat as you, though. I've never really spent much time playing in ArtRage (or OpenCanvas), but since I joined the DSF, i thought, hey, what they hey. You're doing it quick and rough anyways, you may as well do it in a program I need to learn. And after seeing Aleksi Briclot's Qin - Mai Lin-chi (http://www.cgtalk.com/showthread.php?t=252003), I realized you really could do some awesome stuff with ArtRage.

Slybones: Hey, it still looks great, ESPECIALLY since you only took 15 minutes.
hologlyphic: great start! keep at it!
Supervlieg: love your style. Very nice.
SalamanderCoral: The poster looks great
