View Full Version : WIP-Lizard character

Hi everyone,

This is the first WIP that I have posted here and of course Iím open to criticism.

My goal for this is to make a character that I can animate later, but im also looking to have a good time texturing this. My vision is: a lizard like predator that lives off his instincts. I want him to have a hint of dopey and silliness ďthis part im having a small bit of trouble withĒ, but also having a intelligent look to him. After I came up with what I wanted I saw a similarity with the squirrel in the beginning of Stone Age.

Im hoping that after I put some teeth in that it will look less like a bird

This is also my first model using a Zbrush made displacement map so I started experimenting a bit.

Did some more work on the upper body. Been trying hard to get the typology flowing right.

omarhib: This isn't my first 3d work, im just new to the forums here:D so it's my first WIP on CGTalk

Going nice till now, keep it up. So, in which program did you make the 3d base? Are you planning to animate it afterwards?

Started the lower half and added the hands. Hands are my least favorite thing to model but they seem to have come out ok. Won't completely know till I get it skinned up and see if they need anymore loops

Iím using Maya to make this.

Just got the CPS plugin so Iím enjoying that one :)

Another update.

Getting close to UV time. Iím not sure if Iím dome with the ankle or not. I need to add the teeth, close up the tail and add some more detail to the pelvis and tail. Iím tempted to rework the topology in the arms but Iím not sure.

Thanks for the good words, I never feel like things are good enough.
