I dīlike to buy a DVD bundle that teaches from BASIC to at least intermediate level to help me learn to draw.

Defenately have to check out these books, they do me remind of loomis' books a bit.
Oh yeah another great source of learning how to draw are the books written by Andrew Loomis, you can find them
here: http://www.saveloomis.org/
and they are all FREE !
