Hi!

I managed to download the R8 demo before it vanished, and played with it a bit, rendering my current WIP with R8 highlights effect. (Okay, so I probably went a bit overboard with them, but hey..) :)

The scene itself is only about halfway done modeling-wise, and practically all of the textures are still temporary.

Still, feel free to comment if you wish...

Very cool. I'm not sure, but it looks like the pilot might be a little, uh, uncomfortable with the depth of the seat and the proximity of the stick (no pun intended).

terve,

Looking good!! Puuhasteletko cinemalla työsi puolesta vai pelkästään harrastuspohjalta? Itse olen noin vuoden verran opetellut cineman käyttöä ihan omaksi iloksi mutta kiinnostaisi tietää miten suomessa cinemaa käytetään ja minkälaisia työtehtäviä alalta löytyy? Keep up the good work!!

To AdamT: I guess the somewhat fish-eyed camera might make the seat look taller and narrower than it actually is.. Besides, the seat is adjustable. :) I have a temporary pilot mesh that I have used to get the proportions approximately correct.

To Peoples: Ihan omaksi ilokseni harrastuspohjalta puuhastelen..

Short translation: Peoples asked about my use of C4D, whether professional or hobby, and I replied that it is just a hobby, the only thing I have done sofar is some animations for a StarWars-fanfilm that should be released "real soon now".

Thanks for the kind comments!

My reply to this was gobbled last night when I posted :hmm:

Thats really nice.

My only suggestions are maybe some red and green lights in the darker areas.Maybe try the chair black as the specular returns from the material will look really glossy and cool. The join between the rear doors needs a bit of bevelling to show there is depth to the doors :)

Other then that cool image

Thanks for the suggestions!

The instruments are based on Space Shuttle, I used the instrument schematics from a book, scanned them and used the bitmaps in the luminance channel, and modeled the knobs etcetera over those maps.

The chair is still temporary and has no material (so it's the default gray color). I haven't decided on the chair material yet, I could try some glossy black (leather?) material, it might indeed look cool.. I was thinking of blue denim as that is about what Space Shuttle has.. The pilot space suit & helmet will be quite glossy so there will be a lot of specular returns eventually. :)

Actually the rear door is still missing, currently there is just an opening to a corridor. It will have pressure doors, though.

Also, pretty much everything behind the chairs is still missing, there should be fire extinguishers, emergency oxygen bottles, more instrumentation, storage lockers etc.. And naturally the Multi Function Displays will eventually show real info instead of blue clouds. :)

Thanks for the thumbs ups!
