View Full Version : Modo Demo Version Blues
webhead 07-01-2005, 01:42 AM I downloaded the demo version of Modo for my Mac and got two seperate files:
1) evaluation.aspx 2) index.aspx
When I click on one file It opens Final Cut Pro and gives me an error message.
When I click on the other file it opens text edit and opens a window with code in it.
I wrote Luxology for some guidance on how to install from theses files and got no response.
Maybe I'm just an idiot but I can't figure out how to get the program to work from these files. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong? :banghead:

You will need to right click and save as...if this still doesnt work, you may need ot try a different browser. Basically, your current one is downloading the webpage rather than the program. :)
Cheers.

I think this comes from using explorer on a MAC. Try safari.

rename the file to modo.dmg and then try to open it.

Um... .aspx files are webpage files (microsoft ActiveServerPages). You must have somehow downloaded the pages that you were browsing instead of getting the actual demo application. Try doing it again, and don't "right click, save as" unless it tells you to do so.

From that thread, the .aspx file is the correct file size, so I think it's mostly a matter of renaming it so that it will open as a Disk Image.

Very strange. Sounds like Lux needs to look at its web server. Tho I didn't have this problem on PC back in March...

Thanks everyone for the advice! I really appreciate it! I ended up using Safari for the next attempt to download Modo and that did the trick. Maybe the other suggestions would have worked as well, but either way -- I'm headed for ModoLand! :bounce:
