Does someone know who the artist of this (I guess) render was? It's a shame they don't credit artists on boxes and the like - a real shame.

You could ask if dougbot (http://www.cgtalk.com/member.php?u=107148) knows, I think he was part of the production team
PS. and yea it's sad artists don't get credited in the boxes

probably collaborative work, shouldn't it be, they probably have modellers bring it to texturers and then to lighting, some crossing between. Depends what you want to know I'd guess.
But I can't be sure. Mayube get the booklet and see who did the modelling and texturing etc., and google:). Unless someone pops in here and says right out he/she made it.
edit: Come to think of it. How about the art director?

If you are still searching Tascha, I found a thread that had an answer:
kittyKat.. i didn't even realize you were the one who started that post haha.. ok.. to answer your question.. the artist who did that model was Ryan Duncan.. i dont think he goes to these forums.. he was formally working at blizzard on thier cinematic team. the company that did the poster along with the cinematic is ncsoft santa monica. that is where i work. she is a fully modeled 3d character.. there might have been a few touch ups in photoshop done.. but maily its all 3d.. as for it looking like mila Jovovich.. not sure about that one.. maybe he looked at her for inspiration.. but i think it could just be a coinsidence.. any other questions?
