View Full Version : New Software to render 3D for Flash
Brand Worlds 06-30-2005, 01:02 PM Hello,
We are developing a new software for Flash called "Brand Worlds Tools".
This software enables easy and powerful production of Flash animations using 3D graphics.
You can have an overview and download the software at www.brandworlds.com (http://www.brandworlds.com/)
We are looking for beta testers and general feedback. Thank you very much!
Kindest Regards and warmest greetings from

I'll be a beta tester. I'd like to see something better than what's out there.
I'm an expert Flash Programmer (no kidding www.citizenparanoid.com (http://www.citizenparanoid.com)).
And I'm an animation supervisor using Maya everyday.

Hi Lothar
I would also be interested in beta testing or being involved in some fashion. I am no pure programming expert, but I am an experienced flash developer/animator with 3d production experience.
I have been searching for a solution like this for some time now. The examples look very interesting!
Please email me if I might be of some help.
Cheers,
Looks promising. I would like to know more about the program. Especially in way of File size.

you can download the beta on this url since it´s obviously in a open beta stage.

Sounds interesting. I actually don't really used Flash, but if I could produce Flash animations using a 3D program, then that would be real cool.

Im gonna bump this thread because a 3 year old thread on Flash + 3D was recently resurrected. Those people may be interested in seeing this product :)

Playing with the beta, I gotta say I really really like it's method for posing the characters. The joint chart window with the controls is really easy to use and are definitely better then Poser's. Still playing with it. :bounce:

The combination of Flash and 3D opens new possibilities.
And we are glad fulfilling your needs.

Looks promising. I would like to know more about the program. Especially in way of File size.
Compared to the first generation Flash work, which concentrated on simple and compact vector graphics, bitmap based animation is by its very nature more demanding in terms of output size. Nevertheless BW Tools offers fine control over the final file size by allowing the user to change dimensions, compression quality, etc. Naturally, BW Tools excels in modern applications without download restrictions, e.g. DSL access or pure desktop applications.
Please have a look at our FAQs:

Thank you so much for your interest!

You do this by easy arranging of 3D objects, camera, light and shaders.
Realtime hardware rendering with your DirectX graphics card is used to create all bitmaps,
and you even get the related actionscripts to build your Flash application.
There is no longer need to draw every frame by hand
or to cut out photos or to be restricted to flying logos.
Without the Brand Worlds Tools you would need
an expensive modeling software plus a graphics artist plus much time.
The Brand Worlds Tools are a product for professionals earning their living with Flash.
It is bringing graphical worlds
- until now only creatable by 3D graphic artists and the results only available for games and movies -
to flash programmers and to flash applications.
This way it will boost productivity and will enable new sorts of Flash animations.
Just have a look at http://www.brandworlds.com and http://www.brandworlds.com/faq_tools01.htm
Screen shots of the product and samples will follow soon.
You can even download the beta for free.
Your feedback is very much appreciated.

Not that anyone cares but Poser does this.
I thought there were flash plugins for lightwave and such too. How is this different?

Swift3D (http://www.erain.com/) has plugins for Lightwave and Max. Its standalone package also already does 3D for Flash pretty well.
What does this new app do that the competition doesn't?

Sorry, our domain name registrar is not working properly and DNS lookup was broken.
Poser can output swf files, but it is "not made for Flash".
Swift3D is made for Flash, but presents mainly technical stuff.
Brand World Tools are doing wonderful world and human simulations.
Brand World Tools are specifically made for Flash.
Brand World Tools can work stand alone (but can import resources from other programs).
This way you will pay much less for software, have to learn much less and need much less time for your work :)
With Brand World Tools we have created the "Piano".
If you like to hear a concert - we are just doing some samples.
If you like to play yourself - just get your beta :-)

Hi DanielD,
BW Tools are optimized to create hundreds of sprites (plus related ActionScript) in a SWF file for flash with just some mouse clicks.
SWF files do not allow alpha channels - just masking.
And finally the graphics card technology is determing the render quality.

Hi ristopuukko,
thank you for your friendly feedback.
Yes, we know this of course.
But the only things in common are the words "Flash" and "3D".

Create Web animations from 3D objects – for Flash and for pure Web.
With just a few mouse clicks you can dress up avatars, create faces by using sliders, chose expressions and motions. Compose environments from 3D items, adjust lights and camera, select output formats for graphics and scripts – that’s it! Comes with over 1000 items - easily expandable
Brand Worlds Tools are unique in creating output (e.g. graphics =and= scripts) for the web. BWT support Flash (also with Actionscript 2.0, Open Laszlo) =and= pure Web (HTML / Javascript, Ajax).
Control a small part of the BWT itself on a website:
