I just installed XP Pro 64 , and if i use the same Include, and Lib files needed for XP Home Mental ray aborts. Do i need to download a different file for Pro?
It only aborts if i add the lines in the RAYRC file...any ideas? This is a completely new machine compared to the machine i was using before

EDIT
maya 6
XP pro 64

If you copied over the rayrc file from your xp system like I did then make sure that the following path is set correctly. Note the (x86) after program files. Apart from this everything works fine for me on x64

registry "{MAYABASE}" value "C:/Program Files (x86)/Alias/Maya6.0.1/mentalray" end registry

I hope this helps.

Bmcaff, thanx for the quick response, i just checked the RAYRC file, and the (x86) does follow Program Files, so the value is as follows
"C:/Program Files (x86)/Alias/Maya6.0/mentalray"

I remember having to add a file somewhere within C:/Windows?
Possibly the System32 folder? I forget where it was put into.
Also, is there possibly a newer update to the dirtmap for Maya6?

Oh well, it was worth a shot.
That is the only difference that I have had to make. Everthing else works smoothly without any additional instalations including dirtmap. I reakon the problem is somewhere in you Rayrc file, perhaps if you post it we can have a look see.
I suppose you could strip all the custom shaders out of the rayrc and then if it works try adding them in one at a time. If it doesnñt work then there is probably something else going wrong.
I´m not sure about an update to dirtmap but I haven´t seen any, plus there is an AO node from Mental Ray included in the install.

Thanx again.
This is a fresh install, and there are no other custom MR shaders added yet, so when i go to add Dirtmap, thats when Mental Ray aborts
