i thought i would post this in the texturing forum to get input of texture painters all over cgtalk, and not just confined to the game design forum.
anyways, i'm painting a skybox for a project i'm working on, and i laid it out in the standard cross-shaped design, and it looks prett good. the problem now is that despite trying to keep things pretty similar where edges meet up, there are fairly obvious seams. i don't have a 3d paint program, but i have access to max and maya, though i haven't been very impressed with maya's 3d paint tool. i can match seams, allbeit slowly and painfully, but i was wondering if anyone had any tips or tricks to make the seams magically go away. also, if anyone has suggestions on how to approach the next skybox, that would be great as well.
thank you in advance.
