Hello again everyone,

Now I have taken my first semi-serious render and ran into some interesting problems. It might be helpful to just look at my attachments below, but I found it interesting that the opposite of what my nurbs plane is modeled as is what was rendered. Some how the trim pieces rendered, and not my plane. I also had some trouble with the trim tool, and think that maybe there is something seriously wrong with my Maya.(the trim tool kept keeping and cutting the wrong parts) If u have had this same problem please tell me.

I also have a few questions:

Does anyone know a good source of custom light glows?

What would be a good renderer for a project like this?

How can I get the light glow to pour through the lettering and get it to look concentrated around the edges of the letters as it pours into the foreground?

Update: I believe that the light glows are rendered after and maybe the white light at the bottom is wrapping around the plane. Note that the wire frames are perspective and the render is a top view. Please help I've played with it for 2 weeks now to no avail.

Sorry I dont know how to work attachments here please dont get too mad this is a link to 3dbuzz with pictures. Thank You for takin the time to help.

i'd rather know how to

revive the old backlight shader of maya ....
cause maya 7 doesn't connect the inputs in the hypergraph any more...

would like to have a hypergraph picture with the connections....

do you know more?

it's meant this backlight shader you can download at:
