Serenity has some of the coolest looking fx ever, it should definately be on the reel. And of course the Battlestar Galactica stuff too.

What the SHOULD put on their reel probably depends on who they are trying to court. Where is the money to be made?

Some of the LW-generated content from Doom3 and/or the expansion pack might be good, too. LW could always use more game dev love.

Stream it using Quicktime this year so we can all watch it with no dropouts or timeouts like last year.

Thank you all for your suggestions. I would like to make clear though that, because of the legal issues involved, it isn't possible for us to include footage from productions that have not yet been released.

We are working on a new show reel for the booth and party. I can't say what all will be on it yet, but I feel safe in saying that it will not disappoint.

We are also working on a new distributable demo reel. We're working hard to secure the necessary permissions from both the studios and the production companies to provide the best footage possible for this new reel, which we plan to make available through NewTekTv.com (http://www.newtektv.com) and via DVD.

For those that missed the announcement on the site and in the last newsletter, we are changing the way we make show coverage video available this year. We're working on arrangements that will make it possible to view the same coverage as ever, but through downloadable clips and NewTekTV.com (http://www.newtektv.com).

Refer to this thread for some more details on all of these topics:

Kurtis - have you approached Indestructible about getting some New Captain Scarlet stuff on there?

I just read that Lightwave was used in Passion Pictures' Gorrilaz video for "Feel Good Inc". That video had some great moments in it.

For those interested, we have managed to come up with a complete set of clean videos that we are allowed to rebroadcast from last year's SIGGRAPH stream. We are in the process now of chopping them up for download from the site. These clips have not been edited from their original broadcast, other than logical starting and stopping points. The first one, Dick Van Dyke, has already been posted, and more will be coming in the remaining weeks leading up to SIGGRAPH.

The direct links to the files themselves may change by the end of the day tomorrow. We will be moving them to a new location where we can post both streaming and downloadable versions. So, please use the links in the page above to access the files between now and then.
