Hi. I've had a problem with my Wacom tablet becoming unresponsive from time to time. I still see the green light on the tablet come on when I make contact but it won't move/do anything on screen. This happens with a few apps such as Illustrator, Photoshop and Painter IX.

The weird thing is that it doesn't happen in Painter 7. In fact, if it becomes unresponsive, I can open Painter 7 and it works again.

Any clue why this might be happening? It's with XP SP2 and a USB 2 port and it's not using a hub.

It's as though P7 is almost listening for a tablet more than other apps.

Cheers

usually i have this happen after long sessions and i use the strip on the top to change the pressure sensitivity level. doesnt happen always, but its the only thing that causes it on my tablet. so as long as i dont touch the strip then its ok. problem is, sometimes i hit it by mistake :(

I too suffer this on my PC at work but not my machine at home. I find that if I put down the stylus and move my mouse then go back to the stylus again it works fine. People have, in the past, suggested that creating customised settings for applications (in your wacom driver panel, in control panel) can fix issues like this. Might be worth a try as I suppose the driver would need to set customised settings when each application is loaded or used? I've never got round to trying it though.

I get it often but in my case it's solved by simply lifting the pen a few inches above the tablet before carrying on. I don't even notice when it happens now.
