View Full Version : Texture baking on Mental Ray
r00tcracker 06-28-2005, 02:38 AM Hi guys, I am having probems with this one, I am doing a 3D Course, and I have to do an architecure design (i am making an interior scene). I am using mental ray to render, but I want to cut down the rendering time by baking the light information to my wall, etc.
I know how to do this in scanline render (rendering to texture and using a shell material on the walls).
Does anyone know how to achieve this on Mental Ray???
Thanks in advance.

It's pretty much the same thing... but only if you have Max7.

Hey Vormav, I don't think its the same, because when I create my shell material, and apply it to my walls, I can see all the rendered little pieces of rendered polygons on my walls.
The walls have an Auto UVW map (created when you render to texture).
And I am using Max 7.
There must be something different, I read the help but doesn't say anything.
Thanks for your response Vormav.http://cgtalk.com/images/smilies/smile.gif
