View Full Version : Points, boxmodeling and the Z 0 axis
Rich-Art 06-27-2005, 09:46 PM Hello all,
I have a question.
With Silo you can prevent points to go over the X 0 axis. eg they snap to the Z 0 axis.
This is very handy when you, for example, boxmodeling and have your object in a symmetry.
Is it possible to make a xpresso that prevent points move beyond the Z 0 axis?
(Mesh Surgery has a Mirror vice tag, but I don't have Mesh Surgery)
That would be very handy. So you don't have to worry about the points that will cross the Z 0 axis.
And you don't constant have to use the set point value command on points that do cross the Z 0 axis.
Thanks.
Peace,
Rich-Art.

Problem solved.
Thanks to Rui Batista from 3DAttack.
He made a nice little xpresso.
See link for the xpresso.

Thanks,
But it won't show up in c4d. Is this because it is a time limited beta version?

Rich Art, ever tried the F2 F3 F4 buttons?
using these your points always remain in 2 dimensions.
or unselect the X Y or Z button on top which deactivates the movement in that specific direction.

Yes I know.
But I'm working on a character and mainly in the perspective view.
And I don't want to constantly switch an axis on or off.

I know,
you dont want to switch axis around,
still, even with plugin, you have to tell it when you want to use which plane, the XY YZ or XY plane.
Here you have to switch again. Or does the plugin automatically know in which plane you want to shift your points.???

No you don't have to switch. For example the Mirror Vice tag (MS plugin) you just put this tag on your object and the points won't cross the Z 0 Axis even with the X axis on.
@ MrBraun,
Just read your PM and send a reply.
