View Full Version : Is Final Cut HD (5) backwards compatible with Final Cut Pro 4?

Well, I guess the title explains everything. I was just wondering if Final Cut Pro 5 (HD) was backwards compatible with Final Cut Pro 4. I know the Adobe line of software is good about this, but I'm not sure about Apple. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hey Digetus,
Sorry, FCP HD isn't backwards compatible, nor has any other version of it ever been. They will open up as a corrupted file if you try to open it up in version 4. I read somewhere that you can export an EDL and rebuild the project.... never tried it though
Its one of those things... once you move forward, you don't want to go back.
